The National Awards for Quality Schooling were introduced by the Australian Government in 2003, to encourage, support and reward excellence in schools. They recognise and reward teachers, principals and support staff who, in their different ways, make an exceptional contribution to their school community and outcomes for students. The college received a Highly Commended in the Excellence in School Improvement category for its commitment to improving retention rates through an outstanding combined general and vocational education program.

Claremont
College is one of the best. It won 2 prestigious awards in the Commonwealth
Government's National awards for Quality Schooling, 2004. An award
for Outstanding National Achievement by a Principal was won by Claremont
College principal, Lynne Hanlon.
