FAQ l

We offer a wide range of pre-tertiary, VET and general college courses.

What do the codes mean?

Under each subject, there are letters and numbers. They tell you the subject code, whether you can take the subject in Year 11 or Year 12, and how many hours the subject runs for.

B subjects run for 100 hours

C subjects run for 150 hours

Next to some subjects, you will also see a*.

* means this subject is a pre-tertiary subject.

Pre-tertiary subjects are needed for university entrance. VET is next to all Vocational Education and Training programs. As well as doing a number of TCE subjects, most VET students do up to six weeks of work placement.

How many subjects should I enrol for?

If you are a full-time student, you should enrol for at least 4 lines. In addition, all students enrol in Tutor Group.

Tutor Group is a regular weekly contact time where students meet with their group teacher to get support and advice in areas including, career planning, health issues, recreational opportunities, personal relationships, finding and using community resources.

Student Representative Council

Claremont College has a Student Representative Council which meets regularly. Membership means you have a say in what happens at College. Students who join the SRC are recognised on their TCE.
